Fire Extinguishers

20150208_004018

That’s all I got this week. For emergency services, be more precise! Or something.

I know I know, I can do better. What can I say, it was a dimly lit bar and I was partying a bit. I vaguely remember the fine print was funny. Guess we’ll never know.

Oh! My God! Here is so Great !

Its not much, but here’s a random advertisement I saw.

Let’s all go shopping.

Braziliam Waxing

On a recent trip to Guangzhou, I came across this sign for Braziliam Waxing.

Relatively minor typo. But then again, if you do want some grooming done down there then wouldn’t you want them to pay attention to details…?

Hong Kong Chinglish

Recently, I went on a short trip to Hong Kong. I was just there for a couple of days, but I did find a few random pictures to share.

Like Taiwan, Hong Kong is supposed to be more modern and developed than mainland China. Yet if you seek it out, there are misspellings to discover…

And an important sticker

Looks appetizing

Unisex shoe pen -style chinglish

Happy Boxing Day to all!

Here’s a holiday-themed pen with a stocking that inexplicably says:
“Unisex shoe. This is one of my favorite shoe”

Chinglish Rejects

China seems to be cleaning itself up, and good Chinglish is hard to come by.

Here are some minor mistakes I’ve found, not that funny though, just rejects I didn’t share before:

I’ll stay on the search for more!

Chinglish and Hat

For this week’s post, we have a typical poetic sign at a park about cherishing sensitive life of flowers and grass, and a hat at the mall I wanna buy:

Stupid Chinglish

Here’s some more stupid Chinglish, from a stupid walk in a stupid mistranslated ‘internationalish’ neighborhood:

And oh yeah, a sex shop. This should go over well

Chinglish lesson – 巴

Today’s Chinglish comes with a free short lesson.

The character 巴 “ba” is often used in phonetic translations. It can stand for “bar” (酒吧 jiuba – alcohol bar) as well as “bus” (巴士 bashi – bus, simply phonetically)

So you see, honest mistake here.
