The character 巴 “ba” is often used in phonetic translations. It can stand for “bar” (酒吧 jiuba – alcohol bar) as well as “bus” (巴士 bashi – bus, simply phonetically)
So you see, honest mistake here.

Hilarious. Those who take the English words seriously would be surprised…
Oh how I miss Carrefour. Shopped there every now and then in Singapore and Malaysia, and loved how food and furniture was sold side by side. Almost everyone I’ve met pronounces Carrefour differently.

I used to say ‘Care-four’ but now I say ‘Care-eh-for’. Is that better?

I honestly don’t know which is the correct pronunciation. I’ve always heard people say it ‘Care-four’ or ‘Car-four’. Mind boggling.

I think there would be many people interested in a free bar waiting area, at least in Europe this spot would be packed with hordes of people 🙂

I had no idea Carrefour had stores in Asia. If they offered free bars I would shop there more often.
